Organic Crocus sativus bulbs of size 7/8

Crocus sativus bulbs of size 7/8 are the smallest bulbs in our organic sales range. These organic saffron bulbs each have a circumference between 7 and 8 centimeters, with a diameter between 2.23 and 2.55 centimeters.

The bulbs of this smallest size do not or hardly flower in the first year of planting, but their favorable pricing makes them very suitable for setting up a perennial cultivation of organic saffron. During the first growth cycle of 1 year, these bulbs will develop and multiply under normal conditions so that you can expect a rich flowering already in the following year.

Organic certified bulbs

Our organic bulbs are grown completely organically in the Netherlands on organically certified sandy soils with a high humus content and a rich soil life without the use of chemical crop protection agents or fertilizers. These bulbs are certified organic by Skal Biocontrole, the designated control authority responsible for the inspection and certification of organic companies in the Netherlands.

Quality bio bulbs

The cultivation of our organic saffron bulbs is also under the control of the Dutch flower bulb inspection service, the BKD. The Crocus sativus that you buy from us are qualified with class 1 on the basis of the implementation guideline for Species-Crocus.

The BKD is commissioned by the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) to inspect the quality of all regular and organic flower bulb crops grown and traded in the Netherlands.
