Crocus sativus bulbs of size 8/9

Crocus sativus bulbs of size 8/9 each have a circumference between 8 and 9 centimeters, with the diameter of the bulb being between 2.55 and 2.86 centimeters.

Because bulbs of size 8/9 are still quite small, they will not flower profusely in the first year of planting. However, after a growth cycle of 1 year, these bulbs will give a rich bloom with a good saffron yield under normal conditions.

Healthy and strong bulbs

Like all Crocus sativus bulbs that we sell in our webshop, these bulbs are also grown in a sustainable way, whereby the use of chemical crop protection is limited to a minimum. Because we grow our bulbs in the Netherlands on fertile sandy soils with a rich soil life and a high humus content, you get strong bulbs with a high content of natural nutrients, which promotes the development of the bulbs during the growth cycle.

Quality bulbs

These Crocus sativus bulbs are classified as class 1 by the Dutch Flower Bulb Inspection Service, the BKD.

The BKD is commissioned by the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) to inspect the quality of all flower bulb crops in the Netherlands for both quality defects and quarantine pathogens.
