After a fairly mediocre 2020 in which the Corona virus dominated the news and the sale of our saffron bulbs started late due to the economic uncertainty, our expectations for the 2021 season were not high. Nevertheless, at the end of the season we can still be reasonably satisfied with our turnover in 2021, in which many returning customers found their way back to our webshop to expand their saffron cultivation.
Despite the relatively fresh spring, the yield in 2021 was very good with many well-grown thick bulbs. A dry end of June/beginning of July ensured that the harvest and processing of our bulbs went very well this year. Due to this smooth processing, we were able to deliver almost all pre-ordered Crocus sativus bulbs to our customers on time.
We have now reached the month of October and most bulbs have been sold. Because it is now also quite late in the year to plant saffron bulbs and expect good results from this planting, we have stopped sales for this season. After a period of several weeks in which we will plant our bulbs, we will start again with the presale of 2022 in November. This presale will be accompanied by significant discounts, making it very attractive to order your bulbs in time for the next season.
However, if you are in the Southern Hemisphere, we still have a few bulbs available that are currently in preparation and can be delivered in January 2022. Please note that we only accept orders above 10,000 pieces as the costs for smaller orders will be too high. Follow this link for more information or get in touch with us.
